Singapore's TeLEOS-2 and Lumelite-4 Satellites to be Launched by India's PSLV-C55 Mission with POEM-2 Experimental Module.
April 22, 2023, at 2:19 PM Indian Standard Time, a rocket called PSLV-C55/TeLEOS-2 will launch from Sriharikota, India. The mission is being conducted by the Indian space agency, ISRO, in partnership with a Singaporean company called ST Engineering.
The rocket will carry two satellites - TeLEOS-2 and Lumelite-4 - both of which belong to the government of Singapore. TeLEOS-2 is equipped with a camera that can take pictures even in bad weather and at night. Lumelite-4 will test a new communication system for ships.
After the rocket releases the two satellites, it will use its leftover fuel to carry out scientific experiments in space. These experiments will be conducted by Indian research organizations and will help scientists better understand space.
TeLEOS-2
TeLEOS-2 is a satellite that was created by a partnership between the Singaporean government and ST Engineering. It has a special camera called Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) that can take pictures even in bad weather and at night. The satellite will be used to help the Singaporean government gather information by taking pictures of the Earth. It can take very detailed pictures, up to 1 meter resolution.
